Welcome! St John’s is a church for all: whether you’re ‘not-in-the-slightest-bit-religious’ or a ‘fully-signed-up-Christian’ and of course everything in between. When describing St John’s we say:
We love our town and community: We know that Corby is a great place to live and work. We value our partnership with organisations, schools, businesses and our community in general. We believe that a stronger community makes for a stronger church and a stronger church makes for a stronger community.
We’re grateful for our heritage: With a worshipping congregation that traces its beginning back before Domesday and a beautiful building which is around 800 years old, at St John’s we’re very aware that we’re building on the work of countless Christians who have gone before us. Just like our forebears, we seek to connect with our present community whilst preparing for those who will come in the future.
We’re traditional but not stuffy: Our worship at St John’s has a traditional feel as we draw on the riches of the past. However, we’re not afraid to try new things and recognise that God rarely allows us to get too comfortable. Beneath the formal veneer you will discover a down-to-earth bunch of people who are anything but stuffy.
We’re a perfect church for imperfect people: Knowing that the good news of Jesus Christ is for all, we want to ensure that everyone feels at home at St John’s. In fact the more you realise that you haven’t got your life nicely sorted, the better you will fit in.
